Bearden family

I am a native of Tallahassee, Florida and came to Pinehurst after a season of ministry preparation in Louisville, Kentucky at Southern Seminary. I have been married to my wife Debi since August of 1995 and we have three children, Ben, Jonathan and Sarah Beth. I enjoy reading, going for walks/hikes, exploring new places, eating at unique restaurants, watching college football, and doing any or all of these things with my family. Our family enjoys hosting people in our home for meals and serving together in our local church and the community.

In terms of my spiritual journey, I placed my faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ as payment for my sins when I was 11 years old while at a camp through the Christian school I attended. At the time, I had been struggling with a fear of dying because I had lost several loved ones in a close proximity of time. God graciously used the truth of His word to show me that as long as I was in relationship with Him through my faith in the finished work of His Son, death did not have to be feared and that life could be experienced to the fullest measure in Christ.

Since placing my faith in Christ, my life has been marked by a supreme sense of confidence that in Him my life has purpose and meaning, as well as the hope that I will spend eternity in Heaven with Him when I die. The following verses capture the truth of the gospel and the hope that God has granted to me the through life, death and resurrection of His beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:1-2 (ESV)
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

I am humbled and excited to serve as the Lead Pastor at Pinehurst Baptist Church. I look forward to seeing how the Lord, for the glory of His great name, will use Pinehurst to advance the gospel in Everett and to the ends of the earth.
