Children and Youth

BJW 0003BJW 0199

At Pinehurst Baptist Church, we love children.  Many of us are parents and grandparents, and we want to see our children and grandchildren grow in their knowledge of, and love for, God.  We know that when parents are looking for a church, they want to make sure their children are safe, loved, and taught about God.

All our children's workers at PBC have undergone a background check, to ensure that your children will be safe.  We provide a caring and nurturing environment for children.  We have many young children at church and they have fun learning and playing together.

We are committed to teaching children about Jesus.  We believe that parents have the privilege and duty of teaching their children about God.  This is found in passages such as Deuteronomy 6:4-7 and Ephesians 6:4, which speak to the importance of teaching children God's commandments.  We also believe that the church has a responsibility to teach all people, including children, about God.

Toward that end, we offer Sunday school for children (as well as for adults).  Sunday school is offered from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., right before our worship service, at 11.  During the worship service, we provide childcare for our youngest children, up to age 4.  (We encourage families to teach their children, ages 5 and up, to learn how to worship during our services.)  We also have a worship service at 6 p.m.  During that time, the children sing with us at the beginning of the service, and then head downstairs, to the children's department, to learn more about God.

We also offer Sunday school for the youth group (grades 7-12) and they meet on Sunday nights at 6.  (They, too, sing with us, and then have their own meeting afterward.)  A few times a year the youth gather to have fun and learn more about God.  We have stayed up all night in the church, gone bowling, had Super Bowl parties, and gone to the Northwest Baptist Convention's annual Student Conference.  Each summer we take a camping trip in eastern Washington.

For the children and the youth, we teach age-appropriate material that is biblical in content.  Our church is committed to teaching God's truth through His Word, whether we are teaching children or adults.
