We recognize that, as Christians, we are on a mission for Jesus Christ. We see this clearly in the last words that Jesus spoke before ascending to heaven:
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
(Matthew 28:18-20 ESV)
We also recognize that missions can be done locally and globally. We support the advancement of the Gospel of Jesus Christ by supporting the International Mission Board, the North American Mission Board, and the Northwest Baptist Convention. We also support local missions and help local needs by supporting the Pregnancy Resource Center, as well as involvement with the local food bank and soup kitchen. In addition, through our monthly services and visitation at a local convalescent facility, we take seriously the words of the psalmist who wrote, "Do not cast me off in the time of old age; do not forsake me when my strength fails" (Ps. 71:9).
